DME's First Article Testing (FAT) for the VIPER/T system (a.k.a. TETS) was completed on 14 June 2007. Testing began in December 2006 and consisted of system performance testing as well as a battery of rigorous Environmental tests to qualify the systems for operation in extreme environments such as the excruciatingly hot deserts of Iraq.
